Colive Fukuoka 2025 teams up with 30+ nomad communities around the world

Japan is making a serious move to attract digital nomads, and Fukuoka is leading the charge. This October, Colive Fukuoka 2025 returns for its second edition, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most globally connected digital nomad events in Asia.
The organizers have confirmed partnerships with more than 30 nomad communities, coworking spaces, and platforms from across Asia, Europe, and North America, including Bansko Nomad Fest in Bulgaria, Outsite’s global coliving network, and, yes, Freaking Nomads.
It’s a level of international collaboration rarely seen in nomad gatherings, and one that puts Fukuoka firmly on the global map to become Japan’s top hub for remote professionals, and the nomad world is paying attention.

Why does this matter for nomads?
The global nomad scene is shifting. There are now an estimated 40 million digital nomads worldwide, and nearly 70+ countries offering dedicated nomad visas.
Japan joined that list in 2024 by launching the Japan digital nomad visa and opening the door for remote workers to stay longer than the typical tourist visa.
Now, with Colive Fukuoka, the city isn’t just welcoming nomads, it’s actively building a bridge between Japan’s startup ecosystem and the global nomad movement.
In 2024, the event drew 436 participants from 45 countries, who stayed an average of 19 days and contributed more than 110 million JPY to the local economy. With this year’s expanded partnership with the Taiwan Digital Nomad Association and visibility at Expo 2025 Osaka, the organizers are betting on an even bigger impact.
What makes Colive Fukuoka different?
Unlike a typical festival, Colive Fukuoka 2025 runs for a full month (October 1–31), with a “main week” of talks, workshops, and networking from October 1–10.
Participants don’t just attend panels. They live, work, and co-create together in the heart of Fukuoka City. Expect a mix of:
- Talks and workshops with nomad leaders and startup founders
- Community-driven projects where nomads and locals collaborate
- Cultural experiences to connect with the Japanese living values
