Kazakhstan is expanding its visa-free entry policy, allowing citizens from 56 countries to visit without a visa for short-term stays. This move is part of a broader government strategy to boost tourism, attract investment, and strengthen regional connections.

Under the new rules, travelers from these countries can stay for up to 30 days per visit, with a total of 90 days allowed within any 180-day period. There are some exceptions: citizens of Iran and India can stay for up to 14 days per visit (a maximum of 42 days in 180 days), while Turkish citizens will enjoy a longer allowance of up to 90 days within 180 days.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs published the draft resolution in July 2025, emphasizing the goal of creating a favorable climate for tourism, investment, and economic diplomacy:

“The aim of adopting the project is to develop close cooperation with Türkiye, create a favorable investment and tourism climate in Kazakhstan, and activate economic diplomacy."

The change reflects Kazakhstan’s ambition to make itself more open and attractive to international visitors and investors. Tourism has already been growing, with 7.5 million foreign visitors arriving in the first half of 2025 alone.

The update comes shortly after Kazakhstan introduced its Neo Nomad Visa, designed specifically for remote workers, and announced plans to expand visa options for digital nomads and entrepreneurs, a clear sign the country is opening its doors to the global remote work community.
