Stop ignoring your small wins

Hey Freaking Nomads,

One of the weirdest parts of working remotely is how invisible your wins can become.

When you’re in an office, people notice. Someone claps when you close a deal. Your boss shouts you out in a meeting. You go out for drinks after a big project ships.

But as a digital nomad, especially if you’re freelancing or building your own thing, most of the time it’s just… you.

You land a client? You quietly send the invoice and move on. You hit your revenue target? You open another spreadsheet. You finally launch that side project you’ve been tinkering with for months? You close your laptop and wonder if anyone will even see it.

I’ve done this more times than I care to admit, skipped right past the good moments because I was already chasing the next one. And you know what happens when you do that? You start to believe you’re always behind. That nothing you’ve done so far counts until you hit that big, shiny, perfect goal in your head.

But here’s the thing, small wins matter. They’re what keep you going. They’re the proof you’re moving forward, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Without them, the road to your “big” success will feel endless and exhausting.

So celebrate them. Take yourself out for that nice dinner when you sign a contract. Post the “I launched!” screenshot when your project goes live. Give yourself the afternoon off when you wrap up a tough week.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realise the small wins were never small at all, they were the breadcrumbs that got you here.

So, what’s one win you can celebrate this week?

Luca

  • A Himalayan village wants to be your next remote office. Tucked in the mountains of Sikkim, Yakten just became India’s first official “Digital Nomad Village.” It’s part of a pilot project bringing high-speed internet, coworking-friendly homestays, and deep cultural immersion to one of the most scenic corners of the Himalayas. 🧑‍💻 The Nomad Resource of the Week

If you, like me, are tired of digging through your bag to find a charger or untangling cables before every call or at the airport, the Bellroy Tech Kit pouch is truly a lifesaver.

It keeps all your chargers, cables, and small accessories neatly in place with elastic loops and mesh pockets, and its structured design means nothing gets squished. Lightweight and easy to pack, it’s just one of those things that makes life on the road a little less chaotic.

It won’t magically stop you from over-packing tech (guilty 🙋‍♂️), but it will make your on-the-go setup look a whole lot more professional (and stress-free).
