You are not a fraud
Hey Freaking Nomads,
There’s this weird moment that sometimes hits me when I open my laptop in a beach café, or check into a new country with nothing but a backpack and a to-do list:
“Who do I think I am?”
It sneaks up out of nowhere, that voice that says, “You’re not doing enough. You’re not really succeeding. You don’t belong here.”
It’s a quiet hum of self-doubt, and if you’ve ever felt it too, let me just say this clearly:
If you are doing this lifestyle, it's because you deserve it.
Impostor syndrome is sneaky. It tells us we’re just pretending to be digital nomads, or that we’re somehow less legitimate because we don’t have a 7-figure business, a huge following, or a ‘perfect’ remote work setup. It tells us we’re one mistake away from it all falling apart.
But with the years, I’ve come to realize that just being here, figuring it out, working from wherever you are, navigating the chaos, is proof of your courage.
You didn’t wait for permission. You took the leap.
And even if you’re still building, still learning, still fumbling sometimes, that doesn’t make you a fraud. That makes you real.
The truth is, most of us are improvising as we go. There’s no rulebook for this lifestyle. We each bring our own story, pace, and way of doing things. There’s no “right way” to be a digital nomad.
So if that impostor voice pops up while you’re applying for remote jobs, pitching a client, or booking your next trip, pause and breathe.
You’re not a fraud. You’re simply growing.
And growth is messy.
It’s full of doubts and wrong turns and moments where you feel small. But it’s also full of wins, freedom, and incredible resilience.
You’ve earned your place in this life, not by being perfect, but by showing up.
Keep up the great work,
Luca
🌍 The latest guides from us
- How much money do you actually need to go full nomad? Hint: it's probably less than you think. We break down realistic budget ranges, from shoestring to comfort tiers, so your financial prep matches your travel goals, not the fearmongering hype.

- Best nomad jobs for introverts (yes, even digital nomads need alone time). Not everyone thrives in huge co-working cafés or busy networking events, and that’s OK. Discover remote roles that reward focus, independence, and deep thinking: writing, coding, data analysis, moderation, and more. Your quiet superpower can fund the journey.

- Unlimited USA data? We’ve found it. Jetting through states on work and play? We compared eSIM providers across the US for coverage, speed, and price, so you can stay connected coast to coast without swapping SIMs or paying hidden roaming fees.

🧑💻 The Nomad Resource of the Week
If you're tired of relying on sketchy hotel networks or battling for bandwidth at cafes, you might have found the perfect mobile router: the Netgear Nighthawk M6. Here’s why it’s worth packing with you:
- Super Fast 5G: Up to 2.5 Gbps speeds, fast enough for video calls, streaming, uploading big files, or running your remote team without lag.
- Works With Global SIMs: It’s unlocked (!). You can just pop in your cheap local SIM (you will need a nano SIM) and you’re good to go!
- Connects Up to 32 Devices: Ideal if you're traveling with a partner, or have, say… a laptop, phone, tablet, second phone, etc.
- All-Day Battery Life: Lasts up to 13 hours on one charge — perfect for travel days or full work sessions on the beach (no judgment).
- Private + Secure: Create your own encrypted Wi-Fi bubble wherever you go, instead of connecting to random public networks.
I’ve seen nomads use this to stay connected in vans, jungle bungalows, airports, and remote coworking spots, and it consistently delivers.
If stable internet is mission-critical for you (and let’s be real, it is), the M6 is a worthy investment in peace of mind in our opinion.
