The Best Laptop-Friendly Cafes in Kuta, Lombok

The Best Laptop-Friendly Cafes in Kuta, Lombok

When you think of Indonesia, places like Canggu, with its booming digital nomad community, or Ubud, where Eat, Pray, Love was filmed, probably come to mind first. But if you’re like me, always chasing less touristy spots that still have great connectivity, come along and explore Kuta, in the south of Lombok Island.

Sure, Kuta is famous for its epic surf waves, but as a digital nomad, I ventured into this chill coastal village and ended up turning a 4-day stay into 3 unforgettable weeks.

Here’s my top 8 list of spots perfect for working, with cozy vibes, fast and stable Wi-Fi, and amazing food options.

1. Munchies

Right on the main street, Munchies is a Balinese-style café-restaurant that’s a tourist favorite for good reason. Comfy sofas, shared tables, and wood-and-rattan décor make it a super cozy and inviting space. Their mix of Italian cuisine with top-notch Indonesian coffee is a total win.

The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, and most tables have power outlets nearby. It gets packed during peak hours, so I’d recommend noise-canceling headphones if you’ve got calls. You can order from a wide range of brunch dishes or classic Italian plates, and they’ve got vegetarian options, making it great for everyone.

2. Bush Radio

Sitting on one of the town’s busiest corners, Bush Radio is a café-restaurant with a cool industrial vibe. It features big wall murals and wide tables with cushions waiting for your workday. The menu is interesting, with creative twists on traditional dishes that are very tasty.

You’ll need to take off your shoes to enter, a classic Asian touch that adds comfort and a homey feel. It’s a great spot for creative minds and a go-to for many digital nomads. The Wi-Fi is solid and stable. One quirky thing about Bush Radio: they only take card payments, no cash, so keep that in mind.

3. Granita

Granita is one of those hidden gems. This café-art gallery rocks a minimalist style, showcasing surfboards and artistic photos. With open, welcoming spaces, you can grab a table outside surrounded by greenery or inside to escape the hustle of the town center. It’s a fantastic spot for focused workdays. They’ve got a great range of coffees and gluten-free options, making it a great pick for any foodie.

4. Nohi

This gorgeous French-style café-restaurant is one of my Kuta faves, with warm colors and spacious areas. Nohi’s got indoor tables with AC and a rooftop with views of the rice terraces. Their pastries are mouthwatering, and the main dishes are beautifully crafted.

It’s a great choice since it’s a bit away from the busy zone, so you’ll find peace and quiet. Most tables have power outlets, so you can work without stressing about your laptop battery. The staff here is absolutely lovely.

5. Starbucks

If you’re someone who sticks to the familiar and reliable, Starbucks recently opened a spot in Kuta. With huge windows, wood-and-bamboo décor, and two spacious floors packed with tables and armchairs, the space is honestly beautifully designed. It’s quiet, the Wi-Fi is stable, and the food, while tweaked for the local vibe, is the Starbucks you know and love.

6. The Emporium Lombok

The Emporium Lombok welcomes you with giant flowers and a vibrant, colorful style. Their wide range of specialty coffees and a menu packed with awesome vegetarian options will make you want to come back. The tables are comfy with outlets nearby, and the Wi-Fi is lightning-fast, making it a stellar work spot. Upstairs, they’ve got a quiet zone for when you need extra silence, though the place is already pretty chill.

They also offer culinary and coffee experiences if you feel like diving into a class, which I thought was super cool. There’s a shop with locally made natural products too.

7. TGC - The Garden Collective

If you want to wrap up the week in a laid-back, chill way, TGC is your spot. This food market has everything from sushi to burgers, ramen, and ice cream, perfect for shaking up your workday. With fans scattered around, it stays cool and comfy for a work session.

The vibe gets lively in the afternoon, so it’s a great option to close your laptop and enjoy a cold beer or some killer cocktails.

8. Asthari

Asthari has got some of the best views in all of Kuta. With a Balinese vibe, you can work with panoramic views of the sea and lush greenery. Choose from the oceanfront bar, big shared tables, or low tables with cushions for a cozier feel.

It’s all about mindful, healthy eating here, so you can dig into delicious, good-for-you dishes. There’s a yoga studio downstairs, and if you join a class, you get a 10% discount at the restaurant, which is awesome for blending work and wellness.
