The REAL Digital Nomad Privilege

Sometimes, the frantic rush of airports and time zones makes us forget why we started down this crazy path that is digital nomadism.

So, instead of tackling a struggle, for a moment, I want us to take a collective deep breath and bask in this insane, wonderful nomadic lifestyle we've chosen.

Remember those soul-crushing commutes sandwiched into rigid nine-to-fives? Remember when a vacation was this precious thing you had to beg for? Now, let that sink in for a moment...

We swapped cubicles for coffee shops, and our commutes can be barefoot strolls on the beach.

Flexibility is our greatest luxury. We now craft our own schedules, setting aside time for both whirlwind workdays and afternoons spent exploring new corners of the world.

This freedom means spontaneous street market lunches, hikes when the weather's just right, or the chance to soak in the rhythm of a city instead of racing through it.

Sure, sometimes the uncertainty, the loneliness of solo traveling, the hunt for good Wi-Fi, and those moments of missing home can be a lot. But that also makes the good days that much sweeter.

We've chosen the unconventional, and for that, we should be freakin' proud.

Digital nomadism isn't just working remotely, it's shaping who we are – adaptable, resourceful, and open to the world's beauty.

So, let this be a reminder: the next time work gets stressful or those travel hiccups strike, take a step back. Look at where you are and what you've done to get here.

Maybe it's a jungle-view balcony in Thailand, a cool coworking space in Oaxaca, or a cozy apartment with a mountain view in Bansko.

Wherever you find yourself, appreciate the fact that YOU put yourself there.

Keep on being mindful, nomads!

🧑‍💻 Nomad Story of the Week

Nomad story of the week
@kinfolktravels: “A week of living and working in a hotel in Agra as a digital nomad 👩‍💻🇮🇳Life in different countries and hotels look pretty much the same in the week as a digital nomad with a few exceptions like the food and local sights. The days usually include exercise, eating, working, walking and we try to go out at least once in the week to a park. But the week is usually mainly working and weekends exploring! 🌏”

"You always miss 100% of the shots you don't take." – Wayne Gretzky

📸 Nomad Postcard of the Week

@veryhungrynomads: “📍 Ko Pha-Ngan, Thailand. The last time we visited Ko Pha-Ngan (many years ago 🫣) we were only interested in hanging on the beaches, the nightlife and having a good time. ☀️ 🏝️ This time, our visit has a different focus. We’ve been busy exploring different areas and communities in Ko Pha-Ngan to perhaps stay a little longer. It’s true what we’ve heard on the grapevine. This would be a great place to live if you’re a remote worker or digital nomad. And Marty is convinced that this beach scenery is the best view from the office. Could you get any work done here? 😜”
