The BEST Laptop-Friendly Cafes To Work From in Canggu

The BEST Laptop-Friendly Cafes To Work From in Canggu

Canggu, once a sleepy village on the southern coast of Bali, has become one the most renowned (if not THE most famous) hubs for digital nomads and remote workers worldwide, with plenty of laptop-friendly cafes to choose from.

We have been sipping our way around Canggu and trying the best cafes the town has to offer so we could wrap for you a list of our top 5 picks. We could definitely have added more than 5, but our goal here is to show truly the best Canggu has to offer, so you won't have to waste your precious time wandering around.

1. Amolas - Best Bali-esque Vibes

Among the ones we tried, Amolas is hands-down our favorite spot to work from in Canggu! It's everything you’d expect from a Bali cafe: spacious, airy, and with a cool, brutalist tropical design that looks like it came straight from a Pinterest board.

The tables are spacious, the chairs are super comfy, and there are plenty of outlets to keep your tech gear powered up all day long. The Wi-Fi is super fast, and they even have indoor air conditioning, which is basically a survival necessity in Bali’s heat!

The staff here is incredibly friendly, and they won’t mind if you decide to stay there for the entire day. The vibe is laid-back and relaxed, mostly because it’s tucked away from the main street. And if you ever need a break, there’s even a pool for a quick dip, lo-fi music, and truly stunning views over rice paddies (they are so stunning!).

As for food and coffee, they’re quite affordable, offering a healthy mix of Balinese and international options. Though, they offer mostly sandwiches rather than a full restaurant experience, so keep that in mind when you heading there.

2. Miel - Best Outdoor/Indoor Experience

Miel Cafe

Our next favorite laptop-friendly cafe in Canguu is surely Miel. It's so stunning that focusing on work might just be the hardest part of your day! This cafe perfectly nails the whole indoor-outdoor vibe, with massive floor-to-ceiling windows, gravel floors, and plants everywhere. It feels like you're outside but with the comfort of air conditioning.

The internet here is generally reliable, and with two floors full of tables, you’ll never struggle to find a plug. The staff is also super welcoming, and they’re more than happy to let you hang out for the whole day. Plus, their brunch and pastries are simply delicious. I continued to dream about their awesome Wagyu Burger for months after leaving Bali. Oh, and their coffee might just be the best in Canggu (it comes with a card telling where the beans you're sipping come from!)

The only downside is it can get a bit noisy around lunchtime (it’s a very popular and photogenic spot in the heart of Canggu). But with a good pair of noise-canceling headphones, you won't have any problem.

3. ZIN - Best Late-Night Spot

If you chat with any digital nomad in Bali, chances are they'll tell you to check out ZIN Cafe. It's a favorite among remote workers in Canggu, and for good reason: it's the only free coworking space on the island!

And, unlike regular cafes, it stays open late, which is perfect if you're working in a different time zone. It quickly became my go-to spot whenever I needed a reliable place to work at night.

You can tell the place has been really tailored for digital nomads. Just a stone's throw from the beach, the ground floor is a lively social and dining area, while upstairs and the bamboo mezzanine in the back is perfect for getting into deep work (my favorite spot!). There are plenty of plugs, and the internet is incredibly fast.

ZIN is actually part of the Zin Resort, which also offers a co-living space and gym for digital nomads. As regular visitors, we signed up for their loyalty program and got 20% off everything, so I highly recommend you do the same!

4. NOAH - Best Hidden Gem

NOAH is our little secret spot for getting work done in a more intimate, quieter setting. Located slightly outside Canggu in the quiet village of Pererenan, this charming place is spread over two levels and even has a coworking area with A/C and a quiet zone for deep work (free to use if you grab something from the menu).

Every table has a plug, and despite its small size, there’s always space inside (it’s that much of a hidden gem!). The Wi-Fi is super fast, opens early and stays open late, which is perfect if you’re working in different time zones like I often do with my trusted laptop. The baristas are also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which is always a HUGE plus.

The food here is both affordable and delicious. I went through a phase where I was literally obsessed with their fruit bowl with coconut yogurt and granola! And here’s a pro tip: after 3 PM, you get 50% off all bakery items, and on weekends, there’s a 2-for-1 deal on hot drinks. Pretty cool, right?

5. Crate - Best for Casual Work

If you're a social butterfly, Crate is the perfect spot for you! It’s a favorite hangout for digital nomads and expats in Bali, and it’s easy to see why. This place makes it super easy to start a conversation or mingle with other remote workers. It’s ideal for socializing while squeezing in some casual work.

The cafe is a cool conversion of an industrial space into a vibrant brunch spot, with awesome views over the rice fields. There are plenty of tables and decent seating, with a few plugs scattered around. The internet connection holds up well, too.

Food and coffee here are quite affordable, and Crate is known for having some of the best breakfast deals around!
